The House of Love soup kitchen was founded in 2008 by Director Brother Toih Moncur and Rev. Michael Harris of Church of God and Saints of Christ. Based in Newark, the soup kitchen is staffed by members of the local community and partners with other local food banks in order to provide meals. Hot meals are served to between 75 and 100 men, women, and children. Clothing and various household items are also given out to members of the local community who are in need.
The faith-based soup kitchen is open on the second Tuesday each month from 5-7 pm and the pantry is open on the fourth Tuesday each month from 8:30 am to 3 pm. Those looking to contact the organization can email them at [email protected] or call them at 973-489-3804.
